Als gebruikelijk leren we elke woensdag een nieuw mooi woord uit de Spaanse taal in deze blog!

Het Spaanse woord van de week is:

CANDIL 

 

Betekenis: olielamp.

 

Oorsprong: Dit mooie woord is ontstaan  uit het Latijns candēla. Daaruit is het Klassieke Arabisch woord  qindīl ontstaan en daarna het Spaans-Arabish. qandíl.

Leuke weetjes: er is een Flamencostudio in Eindhoven die dit prachtig woordje als naam heeft gekozen.

CANDIL 

Meaning: oil lamp.

Origin of the word:  Originated from  Latin candēla, which became  qindīl in Classic Arabic and then qandíl in Spanish – Arabic.

Did you know? There is a  Flamenco dance school in Eindhoven that chose this beautiful word as its tname.
